The Cringe Moments
Me and the cringe moments are too close even to this day.
When I was 5 years old, I went with my mother to buy bread close to home. While my mother was talking to the neighbor, I leaned against a wall next to it. What I didn't know is that it was freshly painted and I only realized it after we left with my mom. I had to return to the house with my whole back and red hair, while people looked at me laughing and my mother told each neighbor about my own clumsiness. I did not want to accompany her shopping for many days due to her embarrassment.
Another cringe moment was when at age 6 I stood in line to buy candy throughout recess. The bell had rung to enter classes, but it was just my turn and I got to order a sweet for about 150 pesos. But it was my first time buying something, and I only had a lot of coins of 1 and 5 pesos and I did not know how to count well so I just left them on the counter, and asked for my sweet without knowing if it was enough or not. I spent 15 minutes outside of class while the lady counted the coins only to tell me that she had like 100 pesos there, and that it wasn't enough. Not only was I late to class without my candy but everyone behind the line laughed for wasting time like that.
For some reason people always laugh at my clumsiness, and the worst thing is that I am still just as clueless 15 years later. I like to think that it is part of my charm.
Jajan't.
